Day Five 01/05/17 "Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days"

Today my color is Yellow Ochre Pale made by Winsor & Newton Artists' Oil Color in France.
This is a warm opaque color in the yellow family hue. The pigment is PY42. (This is also called the Colour Index Generic Name or C.I. Name.)  The PY stands for 'pigment yellow'.
Yellow Ochre Pale is an earth pigment.  It has a low tinting strength.  It is of middle value, around 5.  It has a permanence rating of AA, ensuring that the color used today will appear the same for generations to come.  It is a Series 1, which is the least expensive (Series 4  being the most expensive) paint, about $5-7 per small 37ml tube.

So in continuing to work on my Color Charts, I took this Yellow Ochre Pale (YOP) and placed it by itself in the first top square. I then tinted it by adding Titanium White for 4 additional values below this top space.

Next, in the second column, I mixed my Yellow Ochre Pale with all my other colors individual colors in a ratio of 75%  Yellow Ochre Pale (my dominant color) and 25% of the next color, like Cadmium Orange  (CO).  I then added white to this mixture for 4 additional values.  I did this with all my 21 colors.  It takes my two charts.  (If I had only used 11 colors, it would have taken me one chart per color.)

I love seeing all these beautiful colors I am mixing and learning so much!  Thank you for visiting my blog.  Comments are always welcome.
