Day Four 01/04/17 "Thirty Paintings in 30 Days"

Today's color for my Color Chart is Indian Yellow made by Williamsburg.  Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors was acquired by Golden Artists Colors after the death of founder and artist Carl Plansky in 2009.  They are located in New Berlin, N.Y.
Indian Yellow's pigment is PY83 and it is a transparent golden warm yellow.  When used thickly it has an orange color like pumpkin custard.  It has a value of 5, which is right in the middle of the value scale.  It's chroma is 12, which is a high intensity.  It has an orange/red bias thus is a good selection when trying to mix an orange.

So in continuing to work on my Color Charts, I took this Indian Yellow (IY) and placed it by itself in the first top square.  I then tinted it by adding Titanium White for 4 additional values below this top space.
 Next, in the second column, I mixed my Indian Yellow with all my other colors individual colors in a ratio of 75% Indian Yellow (my dominant color) and 25% of the next color, like Yellow Ochre Pale (YOP).  I then added white to this mixture for 4 additional values.  I did this with all my 21 colors.  It takes my two charts.  (If I had only used 11 colors, it would have taken me one chart per color.)
